ADJECTIVE USED AS NOUNS

 

 

Adjective terkadang digunakan sebagai noun (kata kerja).

• Sebagai pluran nouns menunjukan kelas sesorang; seperti,

The (=cautious persons) are not always cowards.

The (=rich people) know not how the (=poor people) live.

• Sebagai singular nouns menunjukan qualitas abstrak; seperti,

The future (=futurity) is unknown to us.

He is a lover of the (=beauty in general)

• Beberapa adjective sebenarnya adalah kata benda,

• Yang berasal dari proper nouns: seperti, Australians, Canadians, Italians.

• Beberapa yang menunjukan orang; seperti, juniors, seniors, mortals, ingeriors, superiors, noble, criminals, savages, elders, minors.

• Sedikit yang menunjukan benda; seperti, secrets, totals, liquids, solids, valuable.

Kata benda (nouns) digunakan sebagai adjective juga dapat terjadi; seperti,
